Director of the Hung Yen Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Do Minh Tuan said that Hung Yen provincial authorities have intensified directions over agricultural restructuring, helping improve productivity, quality and added value of a variety of agricultural products, and contributing to raising incomes and improving people’s lives.
In the first half of 2022, the value of agricultural and fishery production was estimated at more than VND7.2 trillion, up 2.31 percent over the same period last year; of which, agriculture was valued at VND6.397 trillion, up 1.65 percent; and fishery at VND818 billion, up 7.78 percent.
The province sowed rice on 26,557 hectares; encouraged eligible biosafety livestock farming, and controlled disease among the livestock herds. However, the husbandry industry in Hung Yen still faced many difficulties due to the impact of high input prices from previous months. With the directions of the provincial authorities, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and effective coordination among related sectors and breeders, livestock production has developed well. The pig herd has reached a total of about 483,275, while the poultry herd exceeded 9.4 million, in addition to 4,169 buffaloes and some 32,268 cows. The prices of pork and poultry are relatively high, increasing farming profits.
To promote the achieved results, the Hung Yen agriculture and rural development sector will continue to review, adjust and supplement agricultural planning aimed at promoting the potential and advantages of each region and field. It will also support localities in building intensive farming models based on the unique agricultural product of each village and commune; promote the transfer of technical advances, especially high technologies.
